This yoga class is designed to inspire and empower the student through self expression and a sense of belonging. For most, young adulthood is an awkward, stressful time. This class is a place where the student can be part of a community that is specific to them. Here students will learn fundamental Yoga postures in a supportive and non-competitive environment while gaining flexibility, strength and focus. This class is designed to build self-esteem and to provide techniques which enable the student to learn how to reduce stress though relaxation and breath work. Classes will explore themes such as body image, choosing positive thoughts and actions, dealing with peer pressure, healthy coping strategies and how to love ourselves by taking care of ourselves. Appropriate for anyone 13 to 17, dress in whatever allows for full movement and feels comfortable, flannel pajamas included.
