Truth Be Told: Wampanoag Nation & Thanksgiving As We Know It

2020 is the 400th year anniversary of the Pilgrims arriving on the shores of Wampanoag Nation. Join Graduate Student Life as they welcome Jonathan James-Perry, an Aquinnah Wampanoag culture bearer, leader, historian, artist and professional speaker, for a conversation about the origins of Thanksgiving from the Wampanoag account. From tribal cultural preservation to reclamation, they hope this event will continue the conversation on traditional oral history, foods, culture, and indigenous health.
