Mass Humanities has awarded Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School a grant for Cross-Cultural Perceptions vs. Reality, a project engaging the student body and general public in actual conversations with people from around the world via video conferencing, focused on the experiences of immigrants and refugees.
The project involves students and community members stepping into a Portal provided by Shared_Studios. Portals are “immersive spaces that connect people separated by distance and difference.” By entering a Portal, you’ll come face-to-face with someone in a distant Portal as though you were in the same room. Shared_Studios curates Portal locations around the world.
