Join Center for American Progress, ACLU, and Human Rights Watch for Policing Black Lives.
Our country continues to grapple with the issue of police reform. On a regular basis, we see police interactions with African Americans that criminalize people for living their everyday lives, or worse, have resulted in fatalities. Whether it’s the incident in a Philadelphia Starbucks, where two men were arrested for sitting and waiting, or the fatal police shooting of an unarmed man in the backyard of his grandmother’s Sacramento home, police reform is a topic dominating national discussion.
Therefore, please join us as we bring together authors who have written on the topic of policing — Washington Post reporter Wesley Lowrey, author of They Can’t Kill Us All; attorney Andrea Ritchie, author of Invisible No More, and Kristin Henning, contributing author to Policing the Black Man—for an in depth conversation on policing in America.
Space is extremely limited. RSVP is not required. Seating is first-come-first serve.
