
Chaplain David Berube is a retired lieutenant colonel with 21 years of service in the U.S. Air Force and the Massachusetts Air National Guard. In his civilian career, David is a retired Oak Bluffs police officer and local church pastor. He began his pastoral career in preaching and assisting at his home church when he was 16 and has been ordained and endorsed by the American Baptist Churches, USA, since 1987.
Vegas is a three-year-old, world class service dog from NEADS, in Princeton. After 18 months of rigorous training and screening, he teamed with David in April 2021 to provide grounding tasks that assist David more successfully access the world.
David will share part of his journey with post-traumatic stress, how that dramatically altered his life, how the partnership with Vegas assists him in rediscovering what was lost and what this blessing story can offer us all as we navigate our own journeys.
