Walk. Give. Change the World. For three decades, the MV CROP Hunger Walks have raised tens of thousands of dollars each year to benefit the poor and hungry worldwide and on our own Island. Over 31 years, MV CROP has raised $599,700 with $134,500 going to support our local Island efforts.
Join us on Sunday, Oct. 16, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Augustine’s Church for a three-mile walk followed by a celebration. For those who can’t be present for Walk Day, our Walk-A-Thon is another way to raise money for hunger. Walk the route of your choice anytime from Oct. 1-16 (especially for our many friends who love the Vineyard but live elsewhere).
Register online at https://events.crophungerwalk.org/2022/event/marthasvineyard; or on Walk Day at St. Augustine’s. You may also go to the website to donate. Invite your family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers to this fun, family-friendly, and worthwhile activity. Follow us on Facebook for updates and information, both about this event and on hunger issues generally.
Twenty-five percent of the funds we raise will benefit the Island Food Pantry and the Vineyard Committee on Hunger in their services to the Island. The other funds will be used by Church World Service in the U.S. and globally for emergency food supplies, agricultural training, livestock, wells and pumps, farm seeds, and farm equipment.
