After enduring years of sexual assault by the men in their Mennonite community, a group of women are forced to reconcile their reality with their faith. Given the option of forgiving their attackers or risking excommunication, they gather in a hayloft to weigh the value of their own safety against the possibility of being locked out of heaven.

Based on the Miriam Toews novel inspired by a horrifying true story, this film from director Sarah Polley (Away from Her, Stories We Tell) has been the talk of the international film festival circuit this fall. Its outstanding ensemble cast includes Rooney Mara, Claire Foy, Jessie Buckley and Frances McDormand.
