Meditation and Beyond

Elliott S. Dacher, M.D. will lead a five session course on meditation. Meditation is an age-old contemplative practice that has two aims. The first is to improve the quality of day-to-day life – less stress, reactivity, distress, suffering, and enhanced well-being. The second, and most profound aim, is to enable us to go beyond our ordinary life to that “proverbial “more to life.” This requires an approach that is direct and effortlessly simple.

Each session will include a presentation, practice, discussion, and helpful resources Those who complete the course will be on the path to a larger and more satisfying life. Class dates are April 17, April 24, May 1, May 15, and May 22. Schedule:  Session #1: The Two Aims of Meditation – Practice Instructions.                Session #2: Overcoming the Overactive Mind without Struggle. Session #3: Beyond Distress and Suffering. Session #4: Transforming Daily Life – Nothing to Wait For. Session #5: Human Flourishing – Experiencing Life’s Great Treasures.
