Police Reform is currently under active consideration by the Massachusetts legislature. The House and Senate are hung up on the membership of a new state oversight panel and whether to remove protections police are entitled to against civil lawsuits. We invite you to join the Martha’s Vineyard Branch of the NAACP as we talk with our local elected officials, community activists and law enforcement about police reform's present status.
Panelists include State Senator Julian Cyr, State Representative Dylan Fernandes, Oak Bluffs Police Chief (NAACP/MV President) Erik Blake, Former Boston City Councilor Tito Jackson and local Martha’s Vineyard community activists Lisette Williams and Eugene Langston Jemison. The moderator of the panel is Attorney Arthur Hardy-Doubleday.
