Join us for March’s installment of our Lunch Lecture series! Aquinnah Wampanoag Elder, Linda Jeffers Coombs will share stories from the Island’s first people, focusing on how they have lived in rhythm with the land, the sea, and wildlife. Linda is an author and historian from the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah) and former program director of the Aquinnah Cultural Center. She began a museum career in 1974, has written children’s books illustrating Native American culture from an Indigenous perspective, and worked for three decades with the Wampanoag Indigenous Program at Plimoth Patuxet Museums (formerly Plimoth Plantation). Her work aims to communicate accurate and appropriate representations of the history, cultures, and people of the Wampanoag and other Indigenous nations.
Admission includes a light lunch from Little House Café.
