A cultural double feature! Join Inkwell Haven Foundation and Union Chapel Education and Cultural Institute for a screening of the popular Jubilee, Juneteenth & The Thirteenth featuring Hill Harper, a documentary that accurately portrays the influential but often overlooked role that African Americans in Boston and Massachusetts played in the events that led to the abolition of slavery in the United States. Following that will be a special screening of the first episode of the 1619 Project docu-series from Hulu based on Pulitzer Prize winner, Nikole Hannah-Jones’ landmark 1619 Project.
Schedule: 4 to 5 p.m.: Screening of Jubilee, Juneteenth & The Thirteenth. 5 to 5:30 p.m.: Post-screening discussion with the Museum of African American History and Kerri Greenidge. 5:30 Screening of the first episode of the 1619 Project docu-series.
