MV NAACP's 22nd annual George V. Tankard Jr. Memorial 5K Road Race takes place on Saturday, Sept. 14, starting at 9:30 a.m. from Ocean Park, Oak Bluffs. Runners and walkers are all welcome.

The race is USATF certified. A one-mile Fun Run for kids 12 and under precedes the 5K at 9 a.m., starting from Summercamp, across from Oak Bluffs harbor. Registration for both events takes place at Summercamp on Friday, Sept. 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. and on the morning of the race from 7 to 9 a.m. On Friday, the entry fee is $20. On Saturday morning it goes up to $25. For the kids' Fun Run the entry is $10.

First-place finishers in the men's and women's divisions will receive a trophy. Medals will be awarded in the various age categories. Prizes will be awarded at Summercamp after the Road Race.
