Pathways presents a screening of two short films about the extraordinary connection between award winning author, Joe Hutto and a flock of wild turkeys, and a herd of mule deer.
My Life as a Turkey, won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Nature Programming. It describes how Joe Hutto raised a brood of wild turkeys in the Florida woods. He documents their development from birth, their "language" and an understanding of their innate intelligence.
Touching the Wild, is the enchanting story of Hutton's co-habitation with a herd of mule deer in the Rockies. He spent almost seven years embedded with the herd, closely observing and documenting individual and group interations, gaining their trust, and thereby witnessing behaviour never before recorded.
