Slough Farm’s Fermentation Club gathers monthly to learn a new practice and create a new ferment. Materials for each class will be pre-listed and are available for local pickup at Slough Farm the week prior.
This month, Julia Skinner of Root Kitchen (she/her) will lead folks in repurposing their food waste into flavor. Food waste is a large part of our lives: Roughly ¼ of all fruits and vegetables we buy end up in the bin. But it doesn’t have to be this way: In this class, we’ll draw a few lessons from Ms. Skinner’s Preserving Abundance online course as we see how easy it is to turn our food scraps into something magical.
Come learn how to make flavorful infused vinegars and oils, a scrappy “kraut-chi,” pickled broccoli stems, carrot top pesto, and flavorful “pickle powders” in this fun class.
All participants will receive a 50% discount for Ms. Skinner’s full online series, Preserving Abundance.
Those who register will receive information for pick-up and a Zoom link.
