Island resident and photographer Elliott Bennett’s images of the natural world will be on display in the Community Room of the West Tisbury Library for the month of January. Her photos document her lifelong appreciation of science and nature, and in particular, her love of the Vineyard outdoors.

“Martha’s Vineyard has been my home for the past 27 years, and has fueled my passion for the ocean and island ecology,” says Elliott. “I am always looking for ways to invite the natural world into my life, and over the last couple of years I have enjoyed exploring Martha’s Vineyard through the lens of a camera, delving into close observation of organisms and their habitats. Throughout the Covid pandemic, I embraced the isolation and formed a deeper connection to my artistic side with my camera as my medium.”

The show is free and open to the public during library hours, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and on Sundays from 12 to 4 p.m.
