Martha's Vineyard Museum's exhibit Home is a journey through art, history and personal connection. The wide-ranging exhibit seeks to spark conversations about the multifaceted nature of home and its significance in our lives.
What is home? Is it the places we dwell, the communities we are a part of, or the landscapes and environments we cherish?
Against a backdrop of Island homes, both time-honored and contemporary, Home explores the architectural journey that has shaped Martha's Vineyard. Period-specific drawings and paintings of older Island houses show the evolution of architectural styles, while retaining the character of the Island and a sense of nostalgia for the past.
Th exhibit also navigates the complexities of finding a home in a rapidly-changing landscape.
