Join Chef Melissa McCullough in the farm kitchen to learn the art of homemade custard-based ice cream! Participants will tackle every step of the ice cream making process, from tempering the custard, to building the flavors, and churning the base. We’ll be making three separate flavors to share including mint chocolate, vanilla, and a fun herbaceous variety to be announced based on what is growing in our garden and around the island. Each participant will take home three pints total, one of each variety.

Chef Melissa is a trained culinary professional with a passion for sharing the joys of cooking with others. She is fueled by the creativity and artistry that exists within the culinary world. With a deep-rooted connection to the land, fostered by spending every summer on Martha’s Vineyard, she embraces the beauty of farm to table cuisine celebrating the bounty each season brings. Program Refunds/Cancellations: In the event that a program is cancelled due to severe weather, low enrollment, or other circumstances, we will notify you as soon as possible by email and issue you a full refund within 7 days of the cancellation. If you cannot attend a program as planned, contact thefarminstitute@thetrustees.org at least 7 days prior to the start of the program to receive a full refund or transfer to another date/class. Refunds and/or class transfers will not be granted for registration cancellations placed fewer than 7 days before the start of the program. There are no refunds for missed classes.
