Cooking For Balance: Winter Series

Join Jacqueline Foster in this class as we discuss how to better connect your diet with seasonal eating and listen to your body’s intuitive needs, even in the sparse season of winter. Classes will each have a focus on one meal of the day to ignite our inner fire through winter with warming and grounding foods prepared from island grown ingredients.

Ayurveda is the ancient Indian art of cooking and lifestyle that recognizes the energetic connection between food and our bodies. By balancing our diets to the season and the way we feel we can improve our health, vitality and longevity. As the sister science to yoga, Ayurveda is all about deepening our connection to our bodies, spirits and the world around us.

For our first class in this two-part series, we'll be making a variation on Turkish eggs -- poached eggs over strained yogurt (labne) with chili butter and bread. This menu will feature Farm Institute eggs, Mermaid Farm yogurt, and sourdough.

March 17 will feature a lunch menu, details TBA.

All participants must wear a mask while in the farm kitchen.

Pre-registration required.
