Local author Nelson Sigelman will present his latest book, Martha's Vineyard Outdoors, Fishing, Hunting and Avoiding Divorce on a Small Island. This book is a collection of columns he wrote for the MV Times over 27 years and range in topic from the Martha's Vineyard Striped Bass & Bluefish Derby to adventures in using deer urine for hunting. These intimate, poignant and humorous stories are rooted in the Islander’s love of the outdoors, including the fishing, hunting and water-fowling traditions that shaped the Island’s character. Eager to show the side of the Island he didn’t see reflected in the yearly media buzz that focused on the Island as a resort summer home for the rich and famous, Mr. Siglemen, in these vignettes, captures a local, authentic view of the Island, rooted in small events and ordinary people. An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Sigleman is the former editor of the MV Times and lives in Vineyard Haven with his family.
