Book Talk: A Travel History of Martha's Vineyard

Thomas Dresser's new book, A Travel History of Martha's Vineyard: From Canoes and Horses to Steamships and Trolleys, describes how people moved about the Vineyard over the years.

The horse-drawn trolley segued into the electric street-car. The railroad transported tourists from Cottage City to Edgartown. The first Island automobile arrived as the train left; the first airplane landed as trolley service ended.
