Learn the basics of music theory through five online Zoom classes taught by Andy Herr, a musician and instructor, through the West Tisbury Library. Participants will need a tablet or computer with built-in webcam and mic. Mr. Herr and the library staff can help set up Zoom and remotely trouble shoot on tech issues.
This class is designed for those who have learned some basics on an instrument, and would like to understand the underlying musical theory. Having a keyboard of any kind is preferable but not absolutely necessary (electronic substitutes exist). This class will cover the elements of music from harmony to rhythm and timing, as well as some history, analysis and musical science.
