In partnership with Edgartown Books, The Carnegie welcomes Island writer Suzan Bellincampi as she shares essays in her new publication, The Nature of Martha’s Vineyard.
When Felix Neck Sanctuary Director Suzan Bellincampi published her first book, Martha’s Vineyard: A Field Guide to Island Nature, it was named one of the "Best Books of 2014" by the Boston Globe. Readers adored it, too.
Now Bellincampi is back with another book, The Nature of Martha’s Vineyard, a collection of nature essays that originally appeared in the "All Outdoors" column of the Vineyard Gazette. Published by Mermaid & Motorcycle Press, this collection gathers the best of Suzan's nature columns from over more than 16 years. Accompanied by stunning full-color photographs by Island photographer Tim Johnson, the book covers amphibians, reptiles, birds, fish, mammals, plants, sea life and more. And throughout it all, Bellincampi shares not only science but history, art, and local lore as well. Hear Bellincampi read from select essays in this new endeavor and linger for a book signing. Books will be available for purchase.
