An artist talk with photographer and author Ray Ewing. Mr. Ewing will present both the guidebook in printed and digital formats, along with the coinciding photographic exhibition of images from the project. The book itself is a faux guidebook of roadside attractions that recreate architectural sites of the ancient world. Mr. Ewing will speak about his inspirations for the project, he will read a selection from the book and tell ominously funny stories from the road.
Mr. Ewing is a photographer and artist from the Island. He received a BFA in photography from Maine College of Art in Portland in 2012 and an MFA in studio art at The University of New Mexico in Albuquerque in 2016. Mr. Ewing has worked as a photojournalist, commercial photographer, educator and an exhibiting artist. He is currently teaching photography at The College of The Desert in Palm Desert, CA.
