Do you enjoy working with your hands and learning something new? Our new mini-workshop series is a great way for older kids to try out different exhibit-inspired crafts. Each class lasts two hours and gives participants a bit of the museum and a lot of crafting.
Until the invention of the fountain pen, the quill was the mightiest of writing implements. In this workshop, you’ll visit our exhibits to see handwritten journals and records, then learn the basics of writing the same way children did years ago. You’ll make your own goose quill pen, your own ink and inkpot, and then practice your historic penmanship using examples from our collection.
Preregistration is required and space is limited; the fee includes museum admission and all materials. Best for ages 8 to 12.
