Each student will receive 24 hours of training, including a 4 hour refresher the morning of the exam. The 20-hour training will be broken into one 4-hour session per day for one work week (5 days). Training includes: Pre-trip inspection, air brake test, 4 maneuvers on the CDL course that are required to pass the test, and written road test portion. Upon completion of the 20 hours, the student will be ready to take and pass the CDL Class A exam. NOTE: Prerequisites for this course include: 1) Ability to drive a standard transmission on a large commercial vehicle; 2) Ability to back up a trailer; 3) DOT Medical Certificate and; 4) Commercial Learners Permit (CLP). The exam will be held approximately 10 days after the completion of the training at Otis Air Force Base in Bourne. The instructor will drive students to and from the exam site to the boat in Woods Hole.
Led by Dan Eaton over five days beginning March 25 and ending March 29.
