For the past six years, the Public Archaeology Laboratory, Inc (PAL), in conjunction with the Wampanoag Tribe of Aquinnah, has been conducting archaeological studies at the Martha's Vineyard Museum's new campus. While the former Marine Hospital building is a highly visible artifact of the property's 19th century history, the high bluff overlooking Lagoon Pond and the harbor beyond has been the site of human activity for thousands of years. Join PAL senior archaeologist Holly Herbster, who directed the site's archaeological work, for a discussion on the many chapters of the site's history and how they inform the stories we tell.
