Spend the day at Felix Neck for a favorite Islandwide tradition that kicks off the holiday season. Grab your flock, get outside and be an advocate for nature. The Scat Happens theme explores the not so secret language of nature that is revealed when observing carefully outdoors. Learn which local wildlife are active all winter long and the evidence they leave behind.
Activities will include: Guided Bird Sit and Bird Walk, both at 9 a.m.; Bird Call Competition at 12 p.m.; live animals from Amazing Animal Ambassadors at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.; wreathmaking and nature crafts, hot food from You Enjoy My Vegan; music by The Flying Elbows; special tracks and traces self-guided scavenger hunt; squash bowling and hayrides; holiday shopping; and a whiskey tasting with Uncle Nearest.
No admission fee this year, thanks to sponsorships from Martha's Vineyard Shipyard, Working Earth Organic Gardening and Slough Farm.
